Muhammad Ali may have been a philanthropist, and a social activist but he is most known for his accomplishments in the sport of boxing.



Muhammad started training with the Police Officer that he filed his stolen bike with.  Since then, his career in boxing picked up rather fast.

Muhammad Ali started boxing competitively in 1954.  He won the match by points.  A few years later, he went on to win the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions.  That is a pretty great feat for a young boxer.  This motivated to push him further in his passion for boxing.

Muhammad Ali compete in the 1960 Olympics in Rome.  He competed in the Heavy Weight division.  That was his best weight class and his big wins were in that weight class.  He ended up taking home the gold medal in these olympic games.

Some of Muhammad Ali's biggest fights were against Oscar Bonavena, George Foreman and arguably his toughest opponent Sonny Liston.  It was these three defining fights that made his boxing career what it was.

 

Between winning a gold medal and countless bouts, many of which were knockouts.  Muhammad Ali showed extreme proficiency in the sport of boxing and is easily known as one of the best boxers the world has ever seen.
